korrex #2

I've tried to use the inking system on my proof press for the first time. I was skeptical wether the surface of the rollers is good enough for inking. They are very used. But it worked, yay. I'll print the second colour tomorrow and then I'll show you the whole print. It's just a test though...
how to keep the ink #update

Film- und Plastikdöschen sind auch okay aber hatten einfach keine Chance gegen die kleinen Glasfläschchen. Deshalb habe ich davon nun ne ganze Batterie. So bleibt die Farbe länger frisch und ich sehe, was drin ist. Hurra! Zu bestellen bei Kremer Pigmente. {Übrigens hallo, ich war lang nicht mehr hier. Zu viel um die Ohren und ne Menge am Hut. Na, bin ja selbst schuld...}
-------
I love my new tiny glass bottles. They keep my ink in perfect condition so I ordered a dozen here. The plastic cans tried to do a good job but at the end they had no chance :) {hello again, I was absent for a while. Think I've too much on my plate right now. My fault...}

a rainy weekend

It was raining, so I discovered new blogs at the weekend. Check them out! And we finally removed the rolls from my proof press. Yay. Luckily my neighbour has a lift truck.
Video: Hatch Show Print

I could watch those videos all day long. What an interesting press that rolls back the paper sheet...

paper gripper #2 (or: thanks printers!)
11.08.2010 • Adana, Letterpress
Also mir jedenfalls nicht.
Danke Helmut! You rock.

I said in german that I never expected so much response from professional printers through this blog. To be honest, their tricks helped me many times to get out of a dead end street. I just want you to know, that your help is very appreciated. And that is how I do grippers now:
I got a parcel on monday from hamburg. Beside cool paper (which I should use instead of tympan but this would break my heart) I got some spacing and a little gripper. The spacing can be easily sticked with fixogum (rubber glue) onto the tympan. I added a paper strip at the end. See Helmut's drawing; so nice, isn't it? And he added working-clothes to the parcel, I'll show you next week. Thanks!!!
