Santa Claus

22.11.2012

--------
Today I have to tell you my story with Santa Claus. It started in the UK from where Alan sent me this little catalog from Startype.

--------
While flipping through the pages one figure caught my eye. A little Santa Claus casted on two separate bodies to be printed in two colours. Wow, I never saw this before.
I did some web-research with no success. Alan told me Startype Foundry doesn't exist anymore but he pointed me on to Happy Dragons' Press, who probably could have some old letters from Startype.
So I got in contact with Stafford from Happy Dragons' Press who wrote yes he recognizes this Santa Claus figure and will ask another printer/typesetter who did work at Startype. I got excited. It seemed to be possible to get my hands on Father Christmas.
And finally another email from Stafford landed in my inbox. He found the little guy in his own cases and send it to me. Oh boy! How wonderful! What a helpful and supportive printers' network.
So this monday I received Santa in my postbox. Eeek! Can't wait to print. :)

  4. Thank you Ladies. I started printing last night and it turned out well. Though it's difficult to print this really tiny guy. I had too much ink first.
